Congratulations!! You are on the fast track to having the beautiful, long, thick, eyelashes you have always wanted! This site will teach you absolutely everything you need to know about Eyelash Extensions and will be your guide in helping you choose the lash option which will suit you best!
Why would you want Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions and false eyelashes instantly give you longer, thicker and very natural looking eyelashes. They can help to accentuate your eyes and can be worn every day without any other makeup for a naturally beautiful look. If applied properly, Eyelash Extensions can look so natural no one will know that they’re not yours!
False eyelashes have graced fashion magazines and film screens for years and were made famous by leading ladies such as Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn. Now days, Eyelash Extensions are worn by many celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Megan Fox, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian to name a few!
However, what was once a beauty secret to Hollywood is now becoming a welcomed addition to the everyday woman’s beauty regime. The popularity of extensions continues to grow as it is the most effective way to add length and volume to your own natural lashes without the need for mascara!

What are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions can be a loose term for any number of enhancements designed to add length, thickness and fullness to natural eyelashes. They can be separated into three types: Temporary Individual False Eyelashes, Temporary Strip Lashes and Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions (accurate term).
Temporary Individual False Eyelashes
Temporary individual false eyelashes are designed to be worn for a short period of time i.e. 1 to 5 days. They can be easily applied in the comfort of your own home and are relatively inexpensive. False eyelashes come in two types. The first are “Individual” lashes, which are single strands applied directly to each individual natural lash to lengthen and add volume. The second type are called “Cluster” lashes and are a halfway version between the longer strips and the individual lashes. These can be used to add a subtle flare to your lash line or combined for an all over eyelash extension.
False eyelashes are usually made of synthetic fibres. High-quality synthetic lashes are made to feel and behave like real human hair. They are applied with lash glue designed specifically for temporary lashes and are less resistant to showering, sleeping and swimming. However, if looked after properly, they can survive through most everyday activities. See Caring for your Eyelash Extensions.
Temporary Strip False Eyelashes
Strip lashes are another type of false lash. These are pre-made Eyelash Extensions in an attached strip. They are the most noticeable type and provide a flirtatiously fake appearance. These are more commonly worn with costume or fancy dress. These lashes only last a day or a night and do not create the same natural effect as individual false eyelashes or Eyelash Extensions. They can sometimes peel away at the sides during an evening or event, which can be a little embarrassing! However, strip eyelashes these days come in a range of outrageous and fun designs. If you have good quality glue these can be a lot of fun to wear!
Semi-permanent – Eyelash Extensions
Semi – permanent lashes, also known as Eyelash Extensions, must be applied by a qualified beauty therapist as they are applied using a stronger, semi-permanent glue. A single lash is applied to each natural lash; when applied properly; neither the extension lash nor the glue will touch the eyelid. These are relatively more expensive and take a lot longer to apply. However, they do last a lot longer than false lashes (between 4 – 8 weeks) and can be made from a variety of materials such as polyester, mink, silk and human hair. The adhesive is designed to last until the lashes fall out naturally, however the extensions may fall out faster if they come in contact with oil-based eye makeup remover or if eyes are rubbed regularly. See Caring for your Eyelash Extensions for tips on how to make extensions last longer.

Where can I get Eyelash Extensions?
Depending on whether you opt for temporary or semi-permanent lashes (see Eyelash Extensions vs. Individual False Eyelashes to help you decide!), you can go to a salon and have a qualified beautician apply the lashes, or you can apply the eyelashes yourself.
